Scott and I had a pretty busy spring break this year due to various reasons. Even though it was busy we still enjoyed it. We started off by taking a trip to San Antonio to see my best friend (besides my hubby of course) get married.
Here's the happy couple when they walked out
After the wedding Scott and I heading back to the hotel room so we could change out of our church clothes into something more comfortable. Then we headed downtown to the Riverwalk to have some lunch and to visit the Alamo.
Here we are outside our hotel room ready to head out.
on the Riverwalk.
After we ate, we started heading towards the Alamo. While we were walking there were various shops so we thought we would walk in and see what they had. We were mostly looking for a Christmas ornament since our tradition is to buy one everywhere we go to hang on our tree at Christmas time so we can remember the fun things we have done. When we walked in one of the stores we saw some funky hats. I thought it would be fun to try them on. Scott was reluctant at first, but as you can tell he got into it pretty quickly. ;)

And here we are at the Alamo.
We finished with the Alamo pretty quickly since we had been there before and we mostly wanted an ornament and a picture in front since the last time we were there we got a picture together on the side of the Alamo, but not in front. There was a nice lady who came up to us and asked us if she could take the picture for us since we were struggling taking it ourselves. I'm glad she did too because it turned out better than ours!
As we were heading back to the car, we went by the Riverwalk again and noticed that there was a parade going on. Every year they have a parade where they die the river green for St. Patty's day. If you look close in the pictures you can see the dye.
Then we came home to Midland on Sunday and had our final walk through of our house Monday night. The owners when they moved out didn't clean at all so we were pretty stressed out that we had even more to do with the house then we originally planned, but more on that later.
On Tuesday we officially became owners of this house
Once we got into the house and were really able to assess the situation we decided that before we moved anything in we better paint the main rooms that we would be in. So we have been painting our hearts out since Wednesday night. It is looking so much better. I will post before and after pics once we get everything done so you all can see.
In the meanwhile, I had this cake to do for my best friend's reception this past weekend. I thought it turned out pretty good.
