The weather here this weekend was wonderful! Both Scott and I have had the itch to get out since the weather has been nice so we decided to take advantage of it this past Saturday. We first went to Kent, TX since we were told we could find some interesting fossils there. We did find some cools ones, but not as much as we were expecting. We think we may have been looking in the wrong spot so maybe we can get better directions and try it again. Then after awhile, we took the highway up to Ft. Davis and passed by the McDonald Observatory and ended up in Ft. Davis. It was beautiful scenery. If anyone nearby has not been down there you should go because it is definitely a site to behold. Once we got to Ft. Davis, we decided to keep on going to Alpine, TX. We got to see Sul Ross University there which is the university Scott is thinking about going to through Midland College for his Bachelor's degree and maybe his Masters. While we were there we had dinner at a Mexican restaurant that everyone in the gas station seemed to be unanimous that this restaurant was the place to eat at. It is called La Casita. It was delicious!! Again, if anyone is nearby you have to go visit these places and try this restaurant out. Anyways, here's a few pictures from our trip:

This weekend was Scott's 27th birthday. I wanted to do something special for him. So this whole month I have been thinking of ideas of what to do for him. I first thought about just having some friends over for dinner and games and then I thought I could do better than that. So I ended up planning a surprise party for him and invited couples that we have gotten to know and have become friends with. We ended up doing a western themed murder mystery which turned out to be a lot of fun. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Thank you to everyone who came and joined us Saturday night. You made it much more special!
To Scott I hope you had a memorable birthday that you will remember for years to come!
We were married June 2008 in the Lubbock, TX LDS Temple. Currently, Scott is working towards a degree in Geology and ManDee is working full-time. Our schedules continue to keep us busy, but we try to take advantage of whatever free time we may have. We love to make memories as often as we can and hope to share some of them with you.
