Treasure Hunting?

Scott has always had a fascination with collecting rocks and fossils. He has been dying to be able to go and look for fossils for a long time. He was researching the other day and was able to find a general area of where he could go look. So he convinced me to go with him last night to go searching. The pictures of the ones I found are from my phone so they aren't the best pictures, but here you go.

Petrified Shell (This was my very first find, I was pretty proud.)

I believe this is a small piece of an ammonite.

I found this and wasn't quite sure if it was something, but it kind of looks like a shell or something.

Here's an imprint of a shell.

Here's something I found that looks kind of like an arrowhead.
For just a couple of hours of looking, I don't think we did too bad. Scott got some pretty good things as well. He was pretty happy with all of his spoils. He seemed like a kid who was admiring his opened Christmas presents when we got home. It was pretty funny to see. If anyone else in the Midland area knows of a good place to go let us know, I'm sure Scott would love to try it out.

Wedding Cake

Well, I guess I am following in my mom's footsteps. I'm not quite as good as she is, but I'm sure someday I can only hope to be as good. But for now here is a picture of a wedding cake I made last night for my good friend Olivia who is getting married today!! I'm so happy for her I hope that today is definitely a memorable one for her. You can't see the details of the cake that well with this picture since it was taken on my phone, but the filigree is a light pink, the cake is frosted in white and then there's a silver ribbon on the bottom of each tier.

What do you think? Not to bad for an amateur right?
